Omegle introduced me to Nick through random chat

My first “stranger” was a gay teen who was unhappy I wasn’t. The next was Nick, who turned out to be a journalism student in the UK.

What are the odds?

We chatted about journalism (jobs are disappearing in the UK – he believes in paywalls and I don’t). We also talked about Omegle and how it offers the odd blend of instant intimacy and anonymity, like an ‘airport friendship’ online. We exchanged emails because I hope to get him on a webcast someday.

After our chat, I went to Nick’s blog and learned that his skills include: “Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Flash, Dreamweaver and Audition. I have full knowledge of HTML and CSS, and a basic grasp of PHP and MySQL.”
